JASON HOLLANDER Jason Hollander has been in the college and young adult marketing business since 1990. Since then he has worked with hundreds of companies and produced millions of dollars in successful marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns. In 1992 Jason founded 28th Street Publishing, Inc., a college magazine publishing and marketing firm based in Los Angeles. During his decade as president of 28th Street, Jason directed the acquisition of four regional publications and the merger with Plunge, a hip, citywide, LA pop-culture magazine. The result was the leading young lifestyle magazine in Los Angeles and the finest regional college magazine in the country. On Jason's watch the company's flagship publication, 28th Street Magazine, experienced a circulation increase from 3,000 to 250,000 copies. Distribution grew from one to 350 college campuses. Nine other citywide editions were launched in major metropolitan areas such as New York, Chicago, Boston and others. The magazine's editorial at one time had syndication in 35 markets, and was considered by most in the industry as the nation's finest. Much of the company's success was attributed to experience and expertise in college marketing, cross-promotion and co-branding. 28thStreet's main source of income was from helping companies reach the college and young adult audience. Jason and his partner were sought after to develop marketing campaigns that went well-beyond traditional advertising within the company's publishing group. The team became well known for the development and execution of successful marketing strategies, sales promotions and advertising campaigns for local, national and international projects. In 1999 Jason was named "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" by the U.S. Small Business Administration for his success with 28th Street. In 2000 28th Street was sold to a dot-com that failed to stay in business after the collapse of the Internet and Technology markets. After leaving 28th Street Jason remained in the college marketing industry and formed College Marketing Associates. His core competencies include Marketing, Advertising, Promotions, Event Production, Venture Management, Magazine Publishing and Group Travel. |
